The Portuguese Lifestyle

The
Living in Portugal lifestyle is something that most people
could get used to very easily and it is not at all difficult
to see why.
For a start, let's take a look at the climate. Beautiful
summer days and for the rest of the year it is usually warm
enough to walk around in your shirt sleeves, a little chilly
in the early mornings and evenings but still warm enough to
sit out at a restaurant to enjoy a meal.

One of the main benefits that I often hear from people who
have decided to live in Portugal is that the over all
quality of family life is far better than for instance, the
UK. A comparison that keeps coming up is that there seems to
be far more family time. Think about the summer in the UK
and the time spent relaxing in the garden instead of those
dark winter months sitting in front of a television. It is
often said that families seem to actually sit down and talk
to each other as they are not distracted by other things and
this describes The Living in Portugal lifestyle down to a
'T'.
Sitting outside together, laughing and talking seems to come
naturally to the Portuguese families and before long that
will be happening to you, the laid back lifestyle and family
life is everything to the Portuguese and that marvellous
attitude soon rubs of on the people who decide to make
Portugal their home.

It must be
realised however, that it does take some getting used to in
the beginning. If you require a job to done, it may be the
most important thing in the world to you at that particular
moment but for the Portuguese trades person, well he might
have other things on his mind, like lunch for instance. I
always tell people not to get to up tight about it and
simply go with the flow. The job will get done so why don't
you take a leisurely lunch whilst you wait for the trades
man to arrive?
It is also important that you make the effort to get to know
the locals, appreciate the way of life and the local
traditions and get involved. By doing this the Living in
Portugal lifestyle will completely change your outlook on
life and you and your family will begin to reap the many
rewards which will start to come your way.
