Electronic Green Receipts In Portugal

If you have a business in Portugal I am sure you have heard of the green receipts. Or as the Portuguese call them "Recibos Verdes".

You may be aware now though that we have moved on to the electronic green receipts (Recibos Verdes Electrônicos) as Portugal attempts to go electronic and get everything that they can online.

One of the reasons for this, is that people have to fill in their accounts as the year progresses and stops people from suddenly not declaring part of their income in December.

It is also a very difficult system to follow without any training, especially if you have no knowledge of Portuguese.

I was quoted by my former accountants more than 60 euros a month for them to do this for me, so in the current recession you have found yourself a very big saving.

So get comfy and let me show you how to complete your green receipts.

First of all you need to go to the website and download the software.

http://www.portaldasfinancas.gov.pt

You then need to log in to the secure area:

N IDENTIFICACAO FISCAL - Your Fiscal Number

SENHA - Pass Code

ENTRAR - Then press Enter

If you are unsure about your pass code one would have been set up for you via your accountants for your last tax return or for anything else that you have had to do online.

Now you should be successfully logged in and you need to go to Servicos which is down the left hand side navigation section:

After you are in servicos > click on Outros Servicos you will then get several options and you want to look at those under downloads.

Then click on "Recibos Verdes Electrónicos"

Then click on the correct operating system for you and download the software.

Once you have downloaded the software you need to install it on your laptop or computer. It is very self explanitary adding it to your computer and then you need to look at adding your receipts.

So once you have downloaded and run the software you need to open it via the shortcut that has been created.

This section at the top is where you click on to add a green receipt.

And then it will open a new box with all the information that you need to fill in:

Now you need to add the following details:

NIF (same as your fiscal number)

Senha do Prestador do servico (your pass code)

Numero de recibos pretendido (number of receipts you are adding)

Then click obter.

You can now add all your green receipts and if you have used the previous system then this process will be very familiar.

All you have to do is:

Open green receipts

Validate

Submit

And the beauty of it is that filling it in online is so much more simple than the paper version!!!
